Cupping is most commonly associated with Chinese medicine, but has been used in cultures across the world for many years. There are many styles and techniques of cupping all of which use suction in cups to draw energy, blood, and fluids to the surface to promote circulation. The suction and negative pressure provided by cupping can loosen muscles, encourage blood flow, and sedate the nervous system.

Conditions of chronic and acute pain can be relieved with minimal discomfort and tense muscles soften easily and quickly. Cupping is beneficial for those who have high blood pressure, anxiety, insomnia, fatigue, chronic headaches, fibromyalgia and neuralgia. Cupping treatments also increase muscle endurance, lymphatic drainage, and health maintenance during strenuous activities.

Cupping can be used stationary to treat a knot or pain point, or can be moved along the surface of the skin. Most people find cupping to be a very relaxing, comfortable and effective treatment. Cupping can be done as a stand-alone treatment or as a part of a massage.
